I have learned a valuable lesson the last 2 weeks, lesson #1; Never put anything thats not brand new on a new engine because it will immediatly go south on you. Number 2; You will be repeating lesson 1 alot!
I think I am getting the bugs out, I drove it up through town yesterday and back to the shop without getting stuck so thats a good thing. New sparkplug wires on tomorrow and it will be running well then I believe. Valves are quite, no exhaust leaks...Damn I may have done it!
Time for her spring cleaning and detail.

progress--Well, sort of
Well, got the box off the '71 again...Got to get the suspension finished up, relocate the upper shock mounts and install the lower shock mounts. Geez, my garage sure is small compared to the old shop!!! Got a bunch of shinys and other goodies for it, radiator should be here tomorrow. Hopefully it will be done and painted by the end of April.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Well just some little steps over the winter but now I can't think of any further stuff to do before mounting the top of the roadster body on the Bebops fender-floor. Yesterday I put some foam tape with a sticky surface between the floor panel and the frame rails. It looks like I'll have to round up some buddies to help lift the body on the frame. Because of the internal steel framework the 'glass body is surprisingly heavy and when we took it off to separate the floor section and make all the cutouts it took four men to lift it and there was some grunting going on. To put it back we will have to lift it up onto the frame. I'll get some pictures when we get the body back together.

Hi guys,
I just wanted to share some pics of my 1935 Ford 5 window coupe.
I purchased the car on July 4th of last year and have been working constantly on the car. I hope to have it done within 2 or 3 months.
Heres what the car looked like when I bought it....
And what it looks like now...
Heres a pic of the zz4 right after we first mounted it (4 1/2 months ago)
And heres what it looks like now... (the valve covers are on there only temporarily, I dont wanna mess up the brand new covers)

The previous owner dynoed 440rwhp and just under 500ft lbs of torque with the 142 blower and a 850 cfm holley. He ran 10's in a 69 Camaro.
We swapped the "hot" cam, 142 blower, and 850cfm Holley with a Predator 234/244 cam and a 4-71 blower (6% overdriven) with a Predator carb (The cam and carb are not made by the same company).
Was told by the woman that owns Predator carbs that the cam was a 40-50hp drop in.
Im hoping the engine will put out close to 600rwhp when we go to dyno it.Last edited by Peiceofpaper; 03-29-2006 at 09:16 PM.

hard to belive that 750 carb. was enough carb. I tried that and it didn't work. the predator worked great though. looks good

Thanks. Sorry, 750 was a typo, it was 850. (I seem to have a problem with hitting the 7 key instead of 8)Originally posted by lt1s10

After we changed the cam and blower, we had alot of flames shooting out of the exhaust (they are ceramic coated, btw) and the pipes were turning bright orange until we changed the pushrods and got the carb tuned correctly. The engine runs very good now, even better than it did before.Originally posted by hambiskit

The first blower I had was about the same set up he has and evrybody told me a 750 would work, and after a bunch of holes in pistons and a lot of blown head gaskets I went to a bigger carb. and got rid of the problem. hate to say it , but I've been there done that.Originally posted by hambiskit

i did get by with the 750 for awhile, with 92 jets in the front and none in the rear, but I didn't have the motor he has and its was still lean, just not blowing head gaskets.

Side shot.I can get another approx 2 inches by trimming the bump stops and as u can see the front is yet to get the 2 1/2 inch drop spindles and possibly air bags or 2 inch drop coils, have not decided yet.
The front will also recieve disk brakes and all the goodies that go with it,for now the back will keep the drums. Still not ready to fire the engine.I need and electric fan and also to install the fuel cell and pump.
