Ok So some more minor progress this week. Here's my butchered/almost fixed dash

I also removed the upper cowl panel and windshield and found a Rat Rod Trick

Anybody need a piece of an old rail road crossing sign? The new upper dash panel is on the way, so I won't need this anymore.

And finally, I started investigating the rear quarter panel to figure out exactly how much I should cut out for the new one.

I also ordered the 400 Hood, both front fenders and a door skin for the passenger's side, so those should arrive pretty soon. Anyway, it shouldn't be to long before we get the uni-body up on the rotissery and really dig into it.

That's some good progress, now to get the panels replaced. Are you going to weld them or glue them???? I'd save the railroad sign to thump the guy who put it in there on the head!!!!!

The new qtr will be welded in. I wasn't real impressed with the upper lip of the re-production qtr though. (I know, I know, what else is new?) Anyway, it wasn't near as defined as the original body line, so just cut a piece out of the new qtr and then trace it on to the existing qtr, and then cut the original qtr below the body line and "inside" the trace line. Then, trim it to fit the replacement, tack the new qtr, get it to fit right and then finish the welds.

The wheel house will probably need to be replaced as well but there's already one sitting in the shop for just that purpose.

As for the rail road sign, maybe I'll build me a rat rod some day so I might need it. I think I will hold on to it.

I cheat and cut the existing quarter 1/2 " long then flange it and lay the new quarter on the flange, seems to help control the warpage a bit. I suppose the flange adds a little strenth or something.

It will be alot of work either way but worth it. Keep us posted firechicken.
