Ya Dave, I went on the first run with her today and she never got above 150' and it has a 160 thermostat! I hope that it's getting warm enough to seat the rings, they said she puffed a little out of the right bank once in a while. other than that the car purred like a kitten except for the front lug nuts being loose.
Try adjusting the accelerator pump on that Edlebrock, should help with the hesitation.
Thanks bud, it's not getting fuel soon enough then? Can I do that by moving the linkage rod out another hole, it's right in the center one now.
Yes, you're not geeting enough shot on initial acceleration causing the flat spot or bog. Was always one of my pet peeves concerning Carter/Eledbrock carbs. The idle can also be fine tuned using different size metering rods.
Man, more proof that my brain is moving towards the permanent malfunction mode!! Not only did I forget my password and have to get Brent and friends to send me a new one, I settled an old debt a friend owed me and would up with yet another project. It's a '78 (I think) Mark V with a 460, C-6, power seats, locks, and windows. Also has automatic headlight dimmer and a bunch of other gadgets. Best of all, it has a FACTORY ORIGINAL AM/FM 8 track that works. It's been setting outside for a number of years. Engine runs great, tranny is smoked. It's a huge old sled, but I've always wanted one, so........
And, managed to get the suspension put back under the '71. It was originally a 3/4 ton with a Dana rear, now it has 1/2 ton springs, a 9" with 3.25 gears, and KYB gas shocks mounted outboard. Should be able to get the back of the cab and front of the box painted and get the box set back on this week.
My friend Bill sold his '84 Chebbie pickup, bought this project, a big window '58(?). Got to do the frame and modernize the suspension with MII and a 9" rear. He has this plus another one for a parts truck if anybody is looking for some pieces for one of these old chebbies, let me know.

I just can't leave anything alone, this is the gauge panel for my '71 pickup. The voltmeter and fuel gauge go in the console.
Would be interesting to see a Web Cam shot of this great panel when in operation, at about 4500 rpm......in 2nd gear!:D

Started a 39 Ford four door sedan 2 years ago (first street rod project) and just finished putting in the LT1 out of a 94 police car with a 4L60E trans, currie 3.89:1 rear and TCI Mustang II front suspension. I went with the air bags but am having second thoughts on that (we'll see once I get it rolling). I started the body work on the firewall, dash and door jams so I can get the body back on and the motor started then I'll hit the rest of the body hard. Hoping to start spraying in a couple months with two tone paint scheme with mild flames. Got the computer and wiring harness done so should be ready to fire soon!!!
