Everybody that is currently building a car...

Ok, so last night I broke one of the tubes on my red headers on my GMC rat rod and decided to just put those to the side until the future. We had some BBC zoomie headers that we cut up many months ago with the intent of making some zoomies for our 1935 Ford, but we found some Sanderson zoomies instead, and the BBC zoomies have been sitting since. Well, took the BBC zoomie tubes and cut them just below halfway of the straight part of the tube and tack welded them to some SBC flanges we've had for 7 or 8 months. Only took about 45 mins of work, but I think they came out lookin really good. I thought I'd share some pics.

Pulled the "Z" over to the Dragstrip Reunion @ Seneca yesterday. It was still on the trailer from tech day, so I figured why not. It was a fun day, lotta' bench racin'. Got rained on most of the day, but still had a good crowd of die hards. A bunch of us went out to eat afterwards to get in some overtime bench racin'. :whacked:

Car looks great, Pro!!! Did you perhaps buy me that front engine dragster you were parked next to for my Birthday? Oh yeah, you can keep the engine, gotta put a Blue Oval in it, you know?

No problem, just get it next time you see the dude. Too dang busy to come and get it today anyhow.....

Painted..... Finally after almost two years working on this thing I shot it last night. I wasn't crazy about doing it myself, this is my first time painting a car, but it turned out really good. Its not perfect, but I'd worry about a perfect paint job, and I'm building this thing to drive.

Hi there am looking at your paint job it looks so good man unfortunatly im a novice painter too and am just getting ready too prime some replacement panels after some dam kiwi went down the side of it am thinking that i might as well do the whole car as i have too do the new front wheel arch the new door the bonnet after a stone bounced off it dented it and came within an inch of taking out the windscreen the back left wheel arch might as well go for it What primer do you guys use to drive around for so long without having to paint?
Have been told about a sealed epoxy primer is this the best thing to use?

Mine was in primer for about 10 months and didn't see the road too many times, so it never was an issue. I just used 5-Star filling primer (not sure if that's the proper name). Not being a body guy, I'm not sure what primer would be the best for long term.

Epoxy primer as well as most primer sealers do not offer UV protection and will degrade in the direct sun. If you are going to drive occasionaly and park in the garage it will be ok. I would recomend painting with something as soon as possible. Good luck send pics.

I finally got the side windows for my car after getting caught in last weeks showers. Has anybody had any experiance with RBs remote door kit? Thats all I have left to get and I can install everything.

The car did really well at a 300 mile run we made today, but the carb has to go! I am not feelin' all warm and fuzzy about the way it is panning out.

I have the Duster running and gone. Starting on the second duster getting the 440 monday. Here is a shot of her going to the tranny shop for warrenty adjustments. Looking forward to getting to that 440!!
