I had the same thought when I read it the post last night. Depending on how you set up the carb linkage your dual fours should run on two venturi's at idle and up to perhaps 25-30% throttle for cruise mode, so fuel consumption will be determined by skinny pedal position, right? And it'll spend more time greater than 50% than it does below 50%, right?
I'd say that when anyone looks at either setup the question, "What's your best overall mileage?" is not going to be in their top ten if they know anything about hot rods..... If someone does ask just smile and say, "Seriously??", and then laugh. If you're concerned with economy buy a Prius, or go with the twin turbo's with a fixed throttle stop at 40%.
Your MPG will still suck, though...
