At this point I went ahead and got a set of tires for the 36 plymouth wheels I had..

Picked up some buick drums and Hubs machined to fit the outside.

When I get bored I drill holes in stuff

At this point I sorta mocked it up

I like how the drums peek out..

Time to mount the wishbones. I cut a slot in the frame and slid the mount up inside and welded from abouv and below

Also mounted some ladder bars and spring hangers.

The ladder bars x member is the shock mount bar from a mercury monterey

At this point I need to reverse this rear spring. This can be done a few ways, I used my 10 ton press. Go in 1-2 inch increments..

For the record, aftermarket early hemi motor mounts are perfect for early caddy.

On to crazy stuff like a 6" hair cut. You'll notice I'm going from the inside out, this is intentional as the roof sheetmetal will be chopped later and it adds a little strength. The roof will get some massaging in order to flow a little better and incorporate a later style insert and rain gutters.

Thats all I got for now man :) I forgot to say I only have about $9,600 in the whole car. The engine runs and that includes pretty much all the parts I have to finish it. I will paint it and chrome some stuff, but the point is you don't have to spend tons of dough to have a cool hot rod. I could've done it even cheaper if I used a sbc and didnt have to buy a trans adapter and intake for the caddy. But This is stuff I wanted :)

Yeah this is definitely the streamlined version :)

I figured it would be cool to see if anyone was interested. Plus I think my dads' streetrod friends are on here from Washington. We all weld stuff and drink beer right? :D

1" hole saw in a drill press. Went reallly slow. lots of fluid, took about an hour and a half. Cleaned it up witha flapper sander in a die grinder:)Thanks-DB

Keep those up dates coming, cool little car, reminds me of mine when I was building it, but that was a loooooong time ago.

Noticed how you have the Cowl tank marked to fill in. I was driving through Hobbs New Mexico in my little coupe in 1980 or so. Back then "THEY" stll pumped the fuel. Went to the head and came back and the station guy had pumped in 5 or 6 gallons of fuel right through the cowl and onto the floor as the tank was long gone. Made me feel like a fool for not filling it in sooner.

I really like your dash as well very cool. I built my own dash as well, but your use of an existing dash cut down is very good!!

Remarkable work, attention to detail. I love it. BUT - for my taste, I wouldn't have cut so much off the top. Sure gonna be a nice car though. Keep pics coming please. :)
