If both of you can make some progress during the "catching up" time all the better. Not everything on a build will be earth shattering. There are always the 'I can not believe that took me _XXX_days to do" parts of any build up.

So, keep the head held high, think of what needs to be done with what is on hand (or is free) and head out to your project and keep up the good work.
