Don yes we may head up the un known for something special .
Denny how do we change spark plugs ? Raise the engine . Your right again no room anywhere with the headers taking up all the lower space .

That's the way we did it on my friend's 67 390 Cougar back in 68. Otherwise it was take the mounts loose time. Big pain in posterior.

Maybe it's me but I've never really had a problem changing plugs? You can't see what your doing and do contort you hands and arms in ways they were not meant to.

But it did save a lot of time. He took it to the Mercury dealer to have new plugs put in and they wanted to charge an exorbinate price because they had to loosen the mounts and jack up the motor one side at a time. (This was in San Diego) We read in some magazine about doing the hole thing and decided that was the way to go. Worked for us.
