I went out to do some errands on Wednesday morning, and intended on filling up - it had been $2.37 Tuesday evening. It was now $2.41. OK, not too bad, I'll fill on the way home. Oops!! 2 hours later it's $2.46. Last night at 10:30 it was $2.49 - and diesel was only $2.29. Go figure that one out.

My guess - it's greed by the oil companies as the cost of crude has gone up some but not in a proportional amount. But it's still $1.75 less then last year

Yeah, it was great for awhile, we've been jumping some 20 cents a week and it's 2.30 to 2.40 here in southeastern Mass. plus the politicos just raised the sales tax rate AND the fuel taxes! People buy less fuel, the state gets less money, they don't know how to spend less tho'.!!

It was speculators last year and they're at it again. Let's see how it's handled by the current administration. This time around may sink the "left" coast.

And I heard on the news last week that gasoline inventories are at there highest since 1990. Bend over, here it comes.
Two weeks ago, gas here was 1.89, now it is 2.35. Thats an increase of .46 in two weeks.

Yea it is the Memorial Day weekend, and yea the cost of fuel does usually does start to go up around this time of year. But itsn't it funny when you compare this year to last year at the same time.

This year with Our new King in office the cost is easily explaned away because its Memorial day, kids are outta school and going on vacation with Mom and Dad. While just last year with George Bush in office the rising cost of fuel was layed directly at his feet. It was George Bush's fault to the end.

Amazing the difference we have today, and all because of Good Old King Obama--- Long Live The King!!!

Well, seems to me it's been a whole lot more then just the last 2 years.... When I was 14 I worked at a gas station....we always raised the price on the Thursday before a long weekend in the summer....Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. I managed a station for a few years in the late 70's, same thing happened then.....

Not everything in the world is a result of politics, some of it is just a natural occurance.

Those who blame the government whenever things go wrong....gotta wonder if you give the government the credit when things go right???? Guess I've never been one to give the government so much control of my life that I owe them for everything, good or bad, that happens!!!!!!!

I could not agree more, its just a damn shame that when Bush was in office that he didn't get the same prespective from the Govt hater's.

I gotta say that some of this is true, i do know how the seasonal trends go, but most were quick to blame bush! But now that the messiah is in office no one wants to throw this his way.

I guess were not getting much" Change" at the pump. He He.

I think it wouldn't matter if we had Pope Paul the 6th in charge, gas is simply going to command a certain price, just like milk, or eggs, or a suit. The people who are in that business know about supply and demand, and when they see the demand dropping, they pump a little less out of the ground.

Because of some temporary circumstances we all enjoyed a little break from the prices we had been seeing, but we all knew it wouldn't last. The rest of the world, with some exceptions, has been paying at least what we saw for a long time, and in most cases more. We just have to accept that gas will be whatever it is, and that we can't do a lot to control that price. The only thing we can do is use less, and we aren't real good about doing that. The minute gas went down everyone forgot about buying small, fuel efficient cars again and sales of SUV's and Trucks started happening again. We are our own worst enemy, and I am including myself in that group.
