That Tudor build-up takes me back to '85 and my 454-powered red 30 A-bone tudor sedan.

Jack I have been thinking of a white top to help keep it cooler . I remember this pic so much of you Tudor and it looks great . Been thinking also on widening the rear fender and bringing the running boards out to meet . Some labor but cost effective on fiberglass .

Widening the metal boards isn't a big deal either, Bobby, takes about 4 or 5 cuts and some new sheet metal. Thinking your boards are in real nice shape, aren't they?

I would probably just make some 6-8" pie cuts once I cut the rear flange loose then use Dave's sheet metal to fill in the gaps and to lengthen the flange. The outer edge can be heated and bent to shape. You do have a strengthening rib on the underside to contend with. Not a big deal

Before you do that much work, these are pretty big at 265-60x17 and over 29" tall and almost 11" wide:

Dave they are clean the mounts are the only issue and have to be made . Cost effective I think this will work great . Only the rear mounts and that's just some small rust could actually fix them but sheet metal at work can make new ones in a breeze .

The rear tire I have and want to run are 255-75-15 and will require a rear end narrowing or the widening in the metal . The labor is free and metal is cheap . That's what is placing me in this mode of change . The tires are 29 inches tall .

Hmmmm.....how much room do you have on the inside, Bobby? Personally, I think the rear fenders on the red tudor posted by Henry Rifle look too wide for the car, but maybe that's just me....

Wheel BACKSPACE is the key word. Mine are 3-3/4 and could have been another 1/2" if Billet Specialties had had them in stock and not been an extra charge to make them as a custom order (more $$$ ea)

So, are you saying that you have about 3/4" on the inside with these wheels and tires or that's the desired amount? Would the tires fit if you changed the backspacing on the rim or shortened the axles? Just curious.

Guys this set have a 3 3/4 inch backspace 8 inch rim and I can move them in a bit . The rear is a scooch to wide and with the back space they stick way out , Its been about a year and a half and I could knock off 3/4 back spacing and still clear .

Wouldn't that be easier than widening the fenders?

Randy yeah it would , but I am placing all scenarios up . I want the right tire and will do what has to be done to make it fit . I hope just a wheel change will be the easiest but we never know .

I hear ya Bobby. I think the tire-size/fender ratio & relationship is critical to the look of any car in my opinion and many don't think it through quite enough. I'm going to have to spend a lot more time, effort and probably money in that area on my 37 when I get further along but like you said, the right tire & the right fit...... keep us posted on that process. :-)
