That Tudor build-up takes me back to '85 and my 454-powered red 30 A-bone tudor sedan.
They say that "nostalgia ain't what it used to be," but I disagree.

Jack I have been thinking of a white top to help keep it cooler . I remember this pic so much of you Tudor and it looks great . Been thinking also on widening the rear fender and bringing the running boards out to meet . Some labor but cost effective on fiberglass .
Widening the metal boards isn't a big deal either, Bobby, takes about 4 or 5 cuts and some new sheet metal. Thinking your boards are in real nice shape, aren't they?
I would probably just make some 6-8" pie cuts once I cut the rear flange loose then use Dave's sheet metal to fill in the gaps and to lengthen the flange. The outer edge can be heated and bent to shape. You do have a strengthening rib on the underside to contend with. Not a big deal:whacked:
Before you do that much work, these are pretty big at 265-60x17 and over 29" tall and almost 11" wide:

This is the size tire I set up the rear suspension for .

Same tires on the 31 for set up .

Randy with the wheels the A needs it will have about a 3/4 inch clearance tire to body should be plenty .
Wheel BACKSPACE is the key word. Mine are 3-3/4 and could have been another 1/2" if Billet Specialties had had them in stock and not been an extra charge to make them as a custom order (more $$$ ea)
Guys this set have a 3 3/4 inch backspace 8 inch rim and I can move them in a bit . The rear is a scooch to wide and with the back space they stick way out , Its been about a year and a half and I could knock off 3/4 back spacing and still clear .
I hear ya Bobby. I think the tire-size/fender ratio & relationship is critical to the look of any car in my opinion and many don't think it through quite enough. I'm going to have to spend a lot more time, effort and probably money in that area on my 37 when I get further along but like you said, the right tire & the right fit...... keep us posted on that process. :-)
