A little while ago ( b4 I bought the falcon ) I looked at a good shape, '68 Torino, not fastback, 32k original documented miles, orig paperwork, needed paint but had no cancer, and had mint original interior, had a 351 with an automatic. The guy only wanted like 1500 or 2000 for it but, I figured, I didn't have that much to spend and even if I did, it was too nice/ worth to much to drive daily. The reason I asked is because it lookd just like a Galaxie of the same yearspan ( mid- later 60's ). Guess that kinda stumped me. I actully thought it was a Galaxie until I saw the rear window post that had the Torino Emblem on it.Originally posted by Oldf100fordman
The 68 through 71 Torino was a model of the Fairlane. The 72 Torino came about when the Fairlane was dropped all together and they changed the frame and bodies. You don't know what you've got til it's gone
