Jack Chrisman had a rear end housing break and rotate

The Carbone picture is sometime after he beat Garlits at Indy--that was his first race with the elephant

Everybody put Canards on after we put them on for the PDA race at OCIR in 1971--John Wiebe had mounted a set back just in front of the rear wheels, but I put them up fromt where they lifted the air up and the headers could take it on back-- we held the NHRA national record at the time and also the record at OCIR--with the wings we lowered the track record 2 tenths that night from 6.63 to 6.41---There were 20 some sets of wings sold and mounted before the next race!!!! We also ran D & D tapered pushrods for the first time that night and have moved the rear end back 5 inches( Made it more cosey for Rick ) But all anybody saw was the wings

Records used to be have to set at Divisional points races, or the two final rounds at Indy---I don't know how fast he ran there but for some reason it wasn't a record
I think Jim and Allison Lee had the record at6.63 when we lowered it to 6.51 at Fremont, Ca----the 6.41 at OCIR didn't count as a National record as it wasn't a points race--I think our record held til Garlits went 6.21 but with a offset front axle and they tossed his time and just listed a minimun for the class until it could be lowered so unofficially/officially we still held the record!!!!!and with $4.00 you can get a cup of coffee

    Thanks for posting the pics

It's great to see you making your presence known again, Richard!

The absence of your many expert contributions has definitely been felt.

I, for one, am looking forward to "business as usual" ........ just like it used to be.

To quote (more or less) that old motel commercial, "we've kept the light on for you".
