Unless your are just dying to stroke a 305 and don't care how much it costs, there are much cheaper ways to go about making horse power.

It would seem better judgement to find a cheap 350 and spend the same rebuild money on a 383.
If he already has a 305 block it would be less money plus he already knows what he has and in that aspect it would be cheaper.
You will get more hp of course out of the 383 for the same dollar amount.
