I am putting in new parts on an old 454 block. Fresh valve job already done with new springs. The cam is a hydraulic roller with 276 and 510 lift. I checked the mains with new bearings with plasti gage. Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 show 0.003" and number 5 shows 0.004" This is slightly out of spec. The crank is already ground 0.030" I have not checked the rods yet. Is this too much gap on the crank? Will a HV oil pump make up the difference?
