Im with Eric on this. I know nothing is more frustrating than someone telling you to build something different than you intend but that is the rational decision. If you are saving money on the heads, take that money and look at competition products or ebay's 496 rotating assemblies. There some forged piston (18cc) kits that are $1150. You need to move that heavy car and those heads will work well with a 496 and a hyd roller in the high 240's to mid 250's duration. Im not as experienced as some of these guys but i have built a few 454/468 engines.

seeing how we put this back up to the surface when i take about a cam with 640+ lift i am taking about a cam at 245-250 @ 050 and if your not willing to run some stall and gear and some loss of vacuum then this would not be a first cam pick how the car is being driven plays to what cam i use .i am still not sold on china heads ..i would use and have stock gm O ports and a AFR head or RHS or Dart before using any thing from china . i do not know how many bbc i built or machined its alot over 30 years as for buying on E bay parts make sure you know who your buying from. i like to look threw some of thes old post to see if i change my veiw in time .i still will go with what i posted
