    Hey guys, it's been a while. I had a question for the experts. I have a 72 454 that overheats and a new hi torque mini starter that seems to have heat soak issues.
    The 454 has hooker long tube headers and flat top aftermarket pistons. Nothing crazy inside the motor. Its made to get power and torque in the 2500 rpm range it starts, runs and drives fantastic. it will take 20 minutes to climb its way to 235 degrees in park before I'm forced to shut it off. New water pump, new 3 row aluminum ...

    i have a steel 32 3-window cpe 2nd owner- 50 full kustom merc chopped -working top- 50 ford vert. lt1 350 puter powered.I used to belong to hotrodders bulletin board~ they are kinda~~ i found a bit overboard on their rules. So here i am hope you guys know stuff ?i need ?btw Where do i put new posts?Can't figure this forum out very good lmk bsa_bob

    Let me warn you about the flexplate. Most everybody is using flexplates from an offshore source (read China) and the thin material will not hold up. Buy an SFI certified flexplate that was meant for drag racing (SFI 29.1) and sidestep the problem.
