    no it only has the 2 manual gears.. and another strange thing is if i put it in the first gear manualy it still shifts when driving..

    Which one of these pans does yours resemble? If it looks like #1, you have a powerglide, if it looks like # 3, you truly have a TH350 and you should probably check your linkage adjustment. What RPM range does it cruise in?

    Your rear end won't make a difference in how many times you shift. (it could, in theory make your shift points sooner though) You probably have a fairly low gear if your truck was once a 6cyl/stick shift.
