    2 speed TH350?

like a few months ago the trans in my truck blew up.. so i went to the local junkyard and pulled one out of a, I think a 70s-80s el camino and to my luck it worked good in my truck even without changing the filter.... only thing is that it only has a 1st and 2nd gear but dosent seem to have a 3rd, it dosent slip and shifts real smooth and even when i get down on it, it shifts fine i was just wondering could it be the rearend in my truck cuse the body was a 6cyl manual dunno but it looks like a th350 and thought it was kinda strange... and was wondering if any of u could tell me whats up with it??

Can you manually select all three grears?
What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

Which one of these pans does yours resemble? If it looks like #1, you have a powerglide, if it looks like # 3, you truly have a TH350 and you should probably check your linkage adjustment. What RPM range does it cruise in?

Your rear end won't make a difference in how many times you shift. (it could, in theory make your shift points sooner though) You probably have a fairly low gear if your truck was once a 6cyl/stick shift.

Could have been swapped out by someone else before the car hit the boneyard.

When I was 16 I built my first T350 in my grandmas 77 truck. The first gear clutchs were completly gone, so it did not have a first gear. The truck started out in second gear and then shifted into drive. When driving it, I thought it might be a powerglide until I took it apart and saw the first gear package had no clutches in it.

The third gear is a plug in module you have to buy separately.

Disconnect the kickdown and see if that makes a difference.
I know a real good transmission guy in your area, he re-did mine for a very reasonable price. Let me know if you want his contact information, and I'll pm it to you.
