Maybe we need to have him clarify if he's actually rolling. Alignment? He'd have to actually roll some distance for an alignment problem to act funny on the tires and suspension.
If that's the case, then we need to know whether he's actually rolling or it's a stand still noise or possibly an upshift or just a selection of gears process.
If he's confident that the noise is definitely coming from the tranny, look at the pump.
