That surprises me. I bet you can't simply dump F on top of Dextron. You probably have to start off with it dry?

The fundamental difference between Dexron and Type F is the friction modifier additive for the clutches. GM preferred(s) a smoother shift than Ford. Some folks like a firmer feeling shift, so F is more appropriate for that. BTW the Type F spec went out the window almost 20 years ago as supported by Ford. The name Dexron is trademarked by GM and has no letter T in it. Dexron III is generally backward compatible to previous Dexron applications.Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 05-21-2007 at 10:58 AM.
