OD is fine but when i stick it in first itll start making the same noise but its not as loud and its not slipping. and i got under my truck and had a buddy start it and its like clicking and its coming from the flywheel/torque converter area.
is it shot?
thanks guys

Sounds like two different problems. The clicking could be a cracked flex plate. You'll be able to see it when you pull the trans to do a rebuild, there's major trouble with low and reverse. Grinding and slipping is never good.

If it's a 700r4, you probably didn't have the TV cable adjusted properly and burned up the thing. Those transmissions are very touchy when it comes to the TV system.

Well I've sure gotten old too so don't worry about it! I've had two bypass surgeries, new knees, fought prostate, cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,...
