Lots of people have put front clips on these older Fords that were too wide. They end up with wheels with lots of negative offset to still have the wheels look goofy in the wheel opening.
+1 on the bad offset.

I used a Volare subframe for a '48 F1 project and had to run 15 x 8's with +2 offset... only 1" of rim showing at the outboard edge. It looked like I had 3" drag skinnies up front... coincidentally, it looked good with the 15 x 12's in the rear and HUUUUUGE wheel tubs
