Decent Priced, Good Quality, Air Filter, Drier, Regulator ?

It's time to let go my 30 year old DeVilbiss Regulator, Filter. She served me very well.

I need a good regulator and most of all a very nice drier.
I paint and use air a lot to dry parts and blow my 427 Cobra after washing.

    I have a 60g tank.

What's a good system today without taking out a loan to pay for it ?
I'd like to be around,.... $100

Stay away from the harbor freight set up. I have that and it always leaks. I'm on the hunt for a new one too.

    Great DIY system.

I only have a single stall garage, so the pipe won't be very long. When I made what I have, goes back 25 years. I have a 60g upright compressor, the out pipe comes out 6" with a T fitting, down as a water drain with a valve, and a straight up pipe to the garage wall, 90° elbow with 8' long pipe mounted to the garage wall. There is where I have a regulator, filter and water drain pipe.

All the pipe is iron. This time, I'd like either PVC, copper or the dedicated pipe made for airlines. I'll only need one pipe outlet to hook up my air hose.

Suggestions for all is appreciated. Photo's, wesite links etc....

Ok, anytime air is compressed it heats up, when decompressed it cools down and draws moisture as do most liquids, so the idea is to make the decompression cool down before it hits your gun and condensates, if you use a leg of iron pipe before your water seperator and air hose it should help, on another site a guy buries a good length of coiled copper pipe and lets the ground cool the air making it condesate before going to the water seperater. I often thought of coiled copper in a old bar refrig before the seperator making a cheapo dryer system, Being a el cheapo I use a ton of flex hose out of my compressor then to about 15 foot of iron pipe running uphill with a drip leg, back down with a drip leg and then to my seperator, then on to my final hose with gun it works for me, just get the air cool to condensate before that gun, seems to work but I do use a last chance filter on my guns too.

About like mine. Can you post some pics ?

My thought now about iron pipe is water rust, vs cooper, pvc and rubbler air line hose that won't.
    Do you agree ?

The rubber type is nice, easy to cut for lengths, lot's of fittings to chose from etc, and although it's expensive, but I won't need much for a single garage.

Kevin, You are correct, I only use leg of iron for spraying, it will rust but every high school shop in the midwest had iron pipe I guess, I think it was tp tools that gave me the idea, We have had copper at the shop I work at for 30 years and never a issue, except expense, keep in mind for spraying diameter is a concern, the bigger the better.

I'm working on our office so my main computer is not hooked up, so I have few photo's here on my wife's tablet.
Here is one a few months ago, I further ahead now.

Near the right front is a tall red/black cabinet, next to the door leading into the house.
Next to that is my first Craftsman tool box. 30 years old.
My 60g compressor is between it and my Jaxmax lift.

In the front left is the window. Can't see it but it's where the brighter light is.

If I had the room, I'll have to measure) I have a 10x10 pop-up awning that I could surround it with 4ml plastic. I wouldn't need any pvc or wood structure. Faster, easier & could store it.

(I CAN'T SEEM TO USE THE PHOTO LOAD LINK)
