it i do not think it will help never did on the chevy .but i do not know how the air flows over your car .heat will rise but air speed over the top may keep heat in if it can not find a exit. how much timming do you have ?

    pat,
wot = 34 degrees. I am running 10 at the crank, & 24, at the distrbitor , no vacuum,(mallory comp 9000). i don't know the cam specs, or pistons, i have to run 93 octane gas in it or it runs on (diesels) when shutting it off.
the engine seems to run good doesn't stumble at wot, or just off idle? i know a retarded engine will run hot. do you think I may not be running enough timing? if so, how much timing at the crank should I try".

a vaccum pull dist pull would help try 12 on the crank but make the curve come in fast as you can if you have more av at low rpm BUT DID YOU CHECK THE DAMPER IF IT S AT TDC?? this is the first thing i do on a engine build before the heads get put down for good
