    its also a thread many carb inlets have used weatherhead thread try and screw a die on one and youl see have never found a tap and die to repair them....ted

    ....Thank You everyone! Wow, lots of valuable info here! So what I have is an 1/4" NPT w/ washer that goes into the transmission & a 1/4" NPT w/out washer that goes into the trans cooler. thanks again, Bill

    UPDATE; actually what I have is two NPT w/out washer fittings! I hooked it up with Earl's fittings & hose.....

    I had this problem trying to figure out what line to buy for 700R4. There are brass fittings in the case. I bought a steel line fitting closest to the ID. I came up with 5/16" brake line (od of threads =.487)
