I’ve got a four speed sitting here; if the trans has to come out again I’m seriously thinking of adding another pedal and shifting for myself.

I re-read your transmission noise from your ealier post and my 82 Z28 made a noise similar to your only not as severe
It went away on its own, not a lot of help for you but i think I know the noise your talking about. Mine also sounded like it was coming from the converter.

Yeah, starts as a chirp, chirp as the car warms up and then ends up sounding like a belt squealing just at idle and finally stays steady through the whole rpm range. Goes away when everything cools off.

It’ll be hydraulic; as far as pedals I’m not sure yet. I’ve got a few different sets I’ve accumulated so I’ll make one of them work. The pedal that’s in there now was from a full size Chevy truck.

A hydraulic throw out bearing really makes the swap easy!

That's the plan, Dave. Speedway has a conversion kit for about $100. From what I'm reading I should be able to use a 4.8 LS flywheel along with an LS7 pilot bearing and it will be a bolt in.

I think I’m going to use these pedals; came from a Fiero.

Fiero pedals didn’t work out; they ended up being too short. I used a set of Jeep CJ pedals in my 51 Plymouth and they worked well so I’m going that route again.

Nice looking set of pedals! Thanks for doing all the searching and leaving us a good tip on what to look for!

No problem; the Jeep pedals seem to work really well in the fat fendered cars. I've used them in a few different cars. I am going to have to lose the brake booster and go to 4 wheel manual disc because there's not much room on that side of the firewall for a brake and clutch master cylinder. I did the same with my 51; used a corvette master for four wheel manual disc and they worked fine.

I tried to turn that picture right side up but its not cooperating.

Have you considered hydraboost since you don't have room for a booster? I put hydraboost with 4 wheel discs on my 66 F100 and I love it! I no longer wonder if I'll be able to stop in LA traffic!

I thought about it but I had the same basic setup on my 51 Plymouth with Explorer four wheel disc brakes and a Corvette manual master cylinder and was pretty happy with it. Stiffer pedal than power brakes for sure but it stopped well.
