 Yep, as I said , I quit flying my ultralite airplane for the same reason, likely pilot error. I know me, and I cant be trusted with things like that.
 
 Where is a good place to get the needed stuff to make the fans work? do they have that stuff at the local auto store? or does it have to be a speed shop?

 switch the hot, never the ground. Yeah, yeah, it will work both ways. But just remember: never switch the ground.. 
 Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

 I'm running the painless unit with relay and 190 F thermostat. I also have a toggle for manual override if the thermostat fails for any reason.
