Ive never been able to find a reason you cant use mixed gas for tigging steel, and you cant use straight gas for mig, it makes no sence, anyway, i could be a number of things, bad gas flow ,to much gas flow, drafts , check your filler rods, they can get surface rust if left in a bad spot, and cause problems
