You can attenuate the low frequency sounds from an exhaust system by installing an H-Pipe.
The noise level remains about the same, but you won't set off as many car alarms as you used to.
If you're after attenuation only, you can install the H-Pipe anywhere you want as long as it's in front of the mufflers.
I posted a photo of the H-Pipe setup on my 32 - go here: http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/sho...715#post144715
Using the next size down exhaust tubing - IE: 2 1/4" H-Pipe to a 2 1/2" system - makes for an easier install than using the same size tubing.C9
