that's actully what I did, I beat the metal until...
that's actully what I did, I beat the metal until the gap was almost closed, then got some fiberglass cloth and resin and put it in, then bondo'd overtop.

what to do to fill the rest of this patch
This patch, my brother beat out of some 12ga sheet steel that I cut from the old MB 240D I junked out, it came out good, I pop rivited it in place, but there is still a peice missing, it originally...
Could it be a 10114182? If so, it is a Gen V 454, 4 bolt 1991 (or later). Hope that helps..
