    Were the cylinders measured for wear / taper...

    Were the cylinders measured for wear / taper before the "rebuild"?
    Or did you just hone and set in new rings?

    Sounds like the gasket wasn't the only problem....

    Sounds like the gasket wasn't the only problem. Perhaps a bad cylinder or head crack.?.?
