I agree I need to learn. If the extra 4 degrees makes so much of a difference, why don't they just grind that into the cam (possibly differences between each engine setup)?

I agree about the gears. If I had to do it over again, I would do 4.56 in a heartbeat. With 5.13 gears, I wouldn't be able to still drive it to work (would be at too high rpm).

My Chevy 355 has little real power - looking for suggestion on CAM change
This is a 350 with a flat top pistons, and a full Holley Sytemax kit (234/244 cam, high flow aluminum heads, intake manifold). Also running full roller rockers, and using a Holley 750 carb with #69...
supposed to be a Gen 5 BBC, the stamped numbers on the pad look to be. G083 1014182 Do we need the casting numbers from lower on the block? Any help is appreciated!
