    You didn't have to tell me your age Hippy I already guessed that from your unusual Question. If you really want to do it right you wouldn't be looking for lead based paint.

    This is a hot rod website so we don't try to restore things to original condition. We build hot rods. We like to make them better than original. My point was that oil has improved a lot since 57 and so has paint. Use the best paint you can get. Forget about that old crap. Restorations are for old farts anyway

    As for respect you gotta earn it. A kid who doesn't listen to good advise when he's on the wrong track don't get no respect. If you can't learn from the people with years of experience then don't bother to ask questions. You already know the answers you want. The right answers will just go over your head.

    I don't know about Nebraska but I can get lacquer from the Napa store uptown. Try your local auto parts store.
