Thanks for the heads-up; I never thought about that.

So far when I've painted over it I've knocked it down with 220 on a block first and then hit it with a rattle can of the JDBB. Hopefully that'll still work. If I ever want to paint it "for real," I'll strip it down to the metal.

I've heard of rat-rodders using WD-40 on their flat-black finishes; does the same caveat apply to painting over those, too?
