Disc replacement??? Wow, I should have gotten one of them instead of getting my welded!! (or whatever the dr. dude did) Been through the back surgery thing a couple times 59. The last time they must have done something right, backaches aren't near as common or as bad as they used to be.. Good luck on your surgery..Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yeah the Disc replacement is new to the U.S, they have been doing it sucessfully in Europe for over 20 yrs now. I was lucky enough to be accepted to have it done and live near a doctor who is qualified to do it. If I wasnt able to have this done they where going to do a fusion thats probally what you had. Glad to hear they got you all fixed up finally. Youther I would really like to see those pics of that 59. I have a ton of pics of different 59 Impalas saved on my computer and use them for my Desktops lolOriginally posted by Dave Severson

Progress huh......OK...I can take a minute to show a lil' progress....
Upper left pic was a week ago...pic on the right, and on the bottom was taken tonight...
Currently.....I've got one more day to finish a laundry list of items before cruzin' to Puyallup for GoodGuys this weekend....but as it stands....
Just completed:
1) Tilt Hood
2) Bed removal and wood bed strips removal
Still to go for road readiness (again):
1) Finish hood primer
2) Rustproof and primer underside of bed
3) Remount bed and square up
4) Minor body work on bed
5) Sand and primer running boards
Still to come as $$$ allows:
1) New wood bed strips (there's a special plan coming but y'all will have to wait for that project idea.....
)
Although I'm not doing all of the fine detail body work for paint prep at this time, I'm basically trying to finish getting the truck all one color..... the final body work and paint will probably get looked at more seriously this winter. Cause it's Summer time and time to drive it!!!

Just click on "post reply" or "quote". Scroll down under the text box & click on the "browse" button. Select a pic. (I have best luck with JPG Files) from your computer and click "submit relpy"Originally posted by jcdean86

If it doesn't upload you may need to check the pic. size. Keep it around 500 px. and keep the resolution low so it loads faster."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Thanks Lerch
. Dont feel bad about showing off your car its a very nice ride. I have posted many pics of my 59 here too, Im proud of my car just like you, Even though mine isnt real pretty to look at right now. As far as lowering your car im not real sure would work the best for you, I have never personly lowered a front coil spring car. I think the shorter springs would give you a more stiff ride but would probally be the cheapest route to go. The drop spindels would be more costly but I would think keep the same ride you have now since you would be using the same springs. The airbags are kind of exspensive but I have heard they give you a really nice ride. I would suggest you start a new post asking others what they would think the best set up for you.

This is my first post, and I just thought I would say hi. My name is Billy and im 17. I recently bought a Chopped 1935 Ford 5 window Coupe from some guys in Texas. Its got the original steel body, original frame, 69 camaro rear end, and a Mustang II front end. Has some REAL 5-hole Magnesium wheels from the 60's, Im going to keep the wheels for Nostalgiac purposes, but am putting some 29x15.5 Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pro on the rear and have yet to decide on the front. I bought a ZZ4 crate engine with a 142 Weiand supercharger already installed on it and was dynoed at about 460 horses with just under 500ft lbs of torque and has only 200 miles on it. Just recieved my 6-speed t56 tranny with double overdrive today. So far, I have about $7,000 into it with all the expensive and essential stuff already purchased and the hard work done. I will post pics soon hopefully. It COULD be driveable in 6-12 months, but probably wont be finished until mid 2007.
I love the site and hope to be here for awhile!
Edit:
I just thought I would add that the previous owner of the engine was running mid 11's with the zz4 in a 3000lb 69' Camaro (I beleive he said 3000lbs). Im going to guess that the Coupe will run low to mid 10's since it will only end up weighing about 1600lbs.
