Heck Pepper looks as if she has put on weight, must be those girls giving her titbits from the table aye. I like the idea of opening up the front and will look forward to seeing the front finished.

I'll be interested to see what you come up with. I was just thinking that the lower valance is to tall.. I think the lower opening needs to be narrowed an inch or so.. it would make the front end look thinner or leaner....
Might do that, have to wait and see how things look when I get the ends cut down and welded back on.....
Finally got back on the Cutlass a bit, getting it ready to shoot. Got the front bumper cut apart, narrowed up, and welded back together, made a grille for the lower opening to protect the radiator a bit. Did some more sanding today, should be ready to shoot it next week. It's been a fun project but I'm anxious to get it done, then it's back on my own stuff for awhile!
Got 70 something years of paint and crud off of my '41 International panel truck. I constructed a body dolly, and removed the body from the frame, now body and frame are easily rolled around the garage depending on what I'm working on. Everything is removed from the frame with the exception of the front and rear suspension. Front should be off by the end of the weekend.
Well, sounds like you have the nastiest part of the build behind you, Blueoval!
BTW--Welcome to CHR, we like Ford Guys on here!!!!!!
Nice work on the Cutlass Dave. You sure do a nice job on body work.
Welcome aboard Blueovalguy! Once you get past your probation period maybe you can share some pics?!?!
Looking Good there Dave... on the home stretch for sure now!
Thanks guys, been a whole ton more work on the Cutlass then I was told it would be!!!! Oh well, nothing new there! Got the car almost ready to shoot sealer on it, should be tomorrow!
About to get my part of the rebuild on Chad's Cutlass done, Mike is still trying to locate a few more parts for it and waiting for some door seals and trim clips to come in.
Trying to get motivated to get back to work on my old '71 Ford pickup.....For those who don't remember it was almost done, then was vandalized with a lot of damage done to the body. I had most of the work done, then quit work on it I suppose because I just got po'd having to go to all the work and expense of doing the body work and paint for a second time! But anyway, when the Cutlass leaves I'll be getting back on it, probably just finish up the body work, shoot it plain old white with some pinstripes and call it done. I'm also going to switch out the C-6 trans for an AOD and change the rear end gears to something a bit more matched up with the overdrive, 3.25's in it now.
Sounds good Dave. I bet after the truck was vandalized it was a constant reminder during the repaint. I still get a little worked up over the wheels and tires being stolen off my 68 Mustang in high school, over 30 years now! Glad to hear you'll be able to get back to work on some of your projects.
What are the advantages of the AOD to the c-6?
What 34-40 said! I've got a 351W in the truck, they aren't really known for good mileage anyway. Had a friend moving to Colorado and he had a good AOD that he gave me! Couldn't pass it up for the price!
