Everybody that is currently building a car...

Finally got the rear wheels and decided to pull the 12 bolt yesterday to check clearances in mini tubs. Plenty of room to spare with 13"s of tire. :)

The 6" back space should keep the rotors/calipers/hubs outof harms way.

Next up...call to Moser for a full float rear. 55"s hub to hub. Then time for me to put my thinking cap on for the torque arm.

Does anyone know of a place besides Spohn and Ballistic Fabrication that sells Johnny joints? Spohns seem a little to small and cheesy although Im sure their fine. And Ballistics are huge. I used them on the links in Dustin's Camino. They cater more to the offload guys.Attachment 58614Attachment 58615

Dave, you're a Ford guy so you may know this. On the Ranger hydraulic throwout bearing; is there a way to change that quick connect line to a regular screw in line to use an aftermarket clutch MC?

Thanks Steve, way more hours resurrecting Chad's old Cutlass then I thought there would be......But every project goes that way so why would this one have been different?????:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Speaking of Chad's Cutlass, getting it closer to ready for paint! One of Chad's life-long buddies is the source of a lot of information on how Chad wanted to do the car......Shiny, but still a bit rough around the edges. I guess you had to know Chad...he'd do everything he possibly could to whoop you in a head's up grudge race, then help you work on your car all night long to make it faster!!!! (Usually so he could turn on the nitrous bottle and whoop you again!!) Anyway, the car will go to Chad's daughter when she's a bit older and a more experienced driver!

So, here's a couple pics. Got the inside of the trunk cleaned up, painted, and wires run. Set the tailights in place to see how the black trim will look with the gold paint. The shots of the hood are meant to show the hood hinge mounts glassed into place, the metal pieces are parts of the hood side of the hood hinges---fun to do on a race weight glass hood, BTW!!!!!

PS---I was trying to convince the girls that because the car didn't have a backseat if they wanted to ride with Mike they'd have to ride in the trunk!!!!!!!!:eek::LOL::LOL::LOL:

I really like the gold Dave. And there is something about the tail end of the Cutlas I've always liked. Not sure if its the tail lights, width, bumper arrangement. Im not sure. Looks good!

David it just looks like the tail end is meant to be jacked high. The car has that wedge shape that just screamed fast at the time they were first rolled out.
Like the gold. especially with the models in the trunk, man they are really growing and looking quite happy Dave.

Thanks Steve, the girls are doing great!!! They're always happy when they're in the garage with me, however Grandma doesn't seem to be quite as thrilled!

The car (and the girls) are looking great! The wheel tubs are bigger than they are!

Heck, those two little angels are growing good and steady and like Steve said, very happy in life now which is such a blessing. I will always remember their sad start to life and the way they looked when Grandma and Grandpoppa came to their rescue. Thanks for the photo Dave, oh the car, sorry, hardly noticed the car so had to look again, yeah, it is looking cool.

Getting a bit more work done on the Cutlass, front end is about all that's left before it's ready for sealer and paint. Doing some mods to the front bumper, opened up the lower opening to help airflow to the radiator a bit, and also just because Mike and I decided to change it that way! Might put either a stainless tube grille, a stainless mesh grille, or just leave it open, haven't decided yet. Also narrowing the bumper down about 1" on each side so it fits the fenders a bit tighter.
