Getting close on another Merc, I have most of the wiring ran, just have to put it in the looms and secure it. Built the fan shroud, cut the holes in the dash for the gauges, and a bunch of other odds and ends.....

Dave, that is a beautiful Merc. I would love to have one, very cool my man.
My car is blocked and is going to be reprimered in white undercoat that gets the 600 treatment and then paint by wednesday or thursday. I also got my hood back from my buds place with her new louveurs(spelling). No matter how you spell them, they are Extremely cool!
The whole car and especially the hood look great, Brick.... My experience has shown that you have an option when sanding louvers, either by some very tight fitting leather gloves, or approximately 1 band aid per ever 3 louvers!!!!!
Soon as we make some decisions on a glass company to build the Merc bodies, this one and the other two will be up for sale. Then, we'll get out the race weight glass Merc body and the chrome moly tubing and really have some fun!!!!
I got the car home and couldn't resist driving it around for a couple days but got started removed boards and had them blasted and holes welded going to glass them and paint. Will be removing fenders next same process.once i have front fenders and grill off will remove power plant and tranny box frame and install heidts ifs.Was going to keep all mopar but a freind gave me a good 305 and 700r4.Havent decided on 3rd member yet buy leaning toward chevy 10 bolt with 3.05 gear.Going to paint car 1993 chryl. black cherry with tan or beige interior.
Great looking car, excellent find!!! This should be a great project for you... Have fun and keep us updated!!!
That is a great looking car Who. what a great start to a rod. What are your plans for the car?
I really love that Merc Dave, very well done my friend. You do great work.
Thanks Brick, got some more of the wiring done today and found some formed radiator hoses that will fit.... Hopefully can get the wiring and miscellaneous finished up this week and fire it up. Still have to put exhaust on it, gonna go order some U-Bends tonight. Hate that dimpled exhaust shop stuff......but, I don't suppose people would pay the extra $$$$$ for mandrel bent tubing.....
I think that if they know anything at all about cars and like to do things right, they would insist on mandrel. There isn't a shop here that has one so there ya go! I guess the paint was purchased for my car today so that could be a good sign, this is going to be cool!
Not meaning to hog up the space but I had to post a pic of the new leuvers and the hood ornament gone and the new ridge taking it's place. Very cool, this pic doesn't do it justice. I am really digging the leuvers.
Looking really nice Brick. Should be all done and shiny soon, huh? The hood really turned out great, nice job with the louvers!!!!!
They are very cool, can get them done around here pretty reasonable, I only paid $150.00 for 85 leuvers.
I'm gettin' the body panels mocked up today so I can locate exactly where the top & firewall need to be mounted. Then I'll start puttin' the body together more permenenant like.
Looking good. Going to be one fine Camaro, Pro!!!
Here's the pics of the '71 with the interior painted. On these pics, hadn't been buffed out yet....
Dave
You make the dsah panels???
Nice clean look good work
