Those gauges are going to look really good in the coupe Brick!!! When is the paint going to be done? Anxious to see it when it's finished, you've been working on it a long time to get it to this point.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Ya, it's been a long haul to here, and it's not all done yet. When she gets out of the paint shop, she gets new seats and console along with a headliner. Going to be some great cruisin' next year, hell maybe a blower if everything works the way I want it to."Sunshine, a street rod and a winding beautiful Ozarks road is truely Bliss!"

Brick, I also have gauges sitting in a box along with a '32 face plate for a quad and either speedo or tach in the other hole. When I mocked up the steering wheel I can't see the speedo unless I put it way over to the right hole and then I would have to move my head to see it. I wonder how many roadsters have this problem? Anyway I am now waiting on a column drop on back order so I can locate the steering wheel and determine where to put an additional hole in the repo '32 dash right in front of the wheel to see through the steering wheel. Then I will put the tach in the '32 plate and the speedo in front of the wheel with the quad to the right where I can check the gas gauge occasionaly. I am just wondering how many roadster drivers put up with this problem because I have only seen two other early Fords with a speedo in front of the wheel. I owned and drove an original '31 Model A back in high school but I pretty much ignored the speedo then and the A wouldn't do much over 65 mph anyway. Just as well with those horrible mechanical brakes. Dave any comments on how many roadsters block out the view of the instruments with the steering wheel?

Well, had a little spare time today and did some work on the Camaro. Looked around and didn't see anyone's frame ties that did everything I wanted them to do so I started building my own. Seems the one's sold only connect the front and back, no other points. Building mine so I can tie them into the two reinforcement on the floor of the car. The main hoop for the roll bar will set directly over the top of the rear mount point, and the door bar will mount directly above the front frame tie attach point.... I'm using 1 1/2" DOM for the frame ties, and 1 5/8" DOM for the 6 point roll bar, should tie everything together well. Also thinking of adding a rear crossmember/drive shaft hoop on the rear... Rear end will be a 9" with adjustable lowers and uppers on the triangulated 4 bar.... Should ride ok and handle great!!!!
Just had a guy in today inquiring about a competition type 'glass Merc.... If he decides to have one built, might as well sell both Camaro's, the pickup, and the Ranchero..... won't have any time at all to work on my own stuff.... Geez, I thought retirement would be easier!!!!!!

Sounds good, Brick. Now remember, the old rule on louvering a hood is that it has to be an odd number of louvers.......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

No, not painted yet, but very soon. We have 4 days off of work next week and will hopefully finish what little bodywork is left then and squirt it with a little paint. I think we're gonna paint it a flat gunmetal gray (like the frame). A couple gallons of gunmetal gray mixed with some talcum power to flatten it out. It's gonna be so badass

Mind if I butt in here??????? My Torinois currently in the block sanding stage. The 390 is on a stand in my garage waiting to be tore down in the spring. Stripped 3 coats of Excorsist Green off the Torino and was pleasently surprised to find a basically rust free car. Not a small feat for a late 60's Ford.

Merc Update
Well, getting things together on the Merc. All the wiring is ran and about 90% connected. I really like the way the smaller back window changed the look of the back of the car and cleaned up the roof line. Today I fabbed a fan shroud, got to fire up the tig and make it a one piece now, not much left under the hood except to install the senders for the gauges.....As soon as we decide for sure which gauges to put in it. Dakota Digital makes an all in one that would fit where the original speedometer went in the Merc.
Also got the front suspension rebuilt, new brake pads, turned the rotors, etc. Coming along fairly well This one next month will be taking a trip (via trailer) to a company we have been negotiating with on building the bodies.... See what they think of it and what kind of deal we can make with them... After that the car will be ready for paint and for sale. (Well, after a few test cruises it will be for sale)Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
