How about I don't want to rebuild it myself, as that won't meet the recall requirements?

"We will do our best to minimize your downtime. Once we receive your master cylinder, there is a 24-48 hour turnaround time for inspection and repair. Wilwood will then return your master cylinder via UPS ground. If necessary, the return shipping can be expedited for a fee."

Translation: We screwed up, but you can get back on the road quicker if you pay for quicker handling. Arseholes . . .

Wilwood is sending me a UPS return label for free return. I'm also supposed to get a call from them, so I can buy a new master cylinder. I want to try a 1" bore, since the 7/8" with an 8" dual diaphragm booster produces a little too light pedal force.

They offered me the $150 price for a new MC with $50 credit after rebuilding the recalled MC. We'll see if that holds up when I get the call from a sales rep.

Edit: Got the call from Wilwood and made the deal to buy the new MC, just as proposed.

Great offer . . . if you need/want a second master cylinder. Glad it worked out for you, Dave, but a second master cylinder would just be a paperweight for me.
