Got'er done - - woo hoo - - - the di-electric grease was the "cat's meow" and worked like a dream. All I had to do was put a little on the end of the cable and inside the boot and push - - no twisting or turning was necessary and after the tip was crimped on then a gentle pull placed it right back where it belonged in the boot. Thanks Jerry - I'll buy you a beer at the Cacklefest if I'm lucky enuff to get out there this year.

It doesn't look a neat as I wanted but I think it's because of the size of the HEI - - there's just so much you can do with it. I might change the cross over between #2 & #4 back near the VC but for now "IT CRANKS AND I'M THRU WITH THIS PROJECT"

Sure looks better than the old photo on page #6 don't it?

    Thanks again, Y'all,
    Em

Just had a thought Meller... "ouch"..
Maybe you mentioned this before and I missed it but, how are you arriving at the decision that the car is running hot? Is it puking coolant? Or is there a gauge that says this is so?

If it is just a gauge.. how confident are you in that gauge? Do you have or can you borrow another gauge / thermometer / infrared temperature meter? Maybe if you don't have one, you might know someone with one???

I like using the infrared "gun" as you can measure the top and bottom temps right at the hoses..

Anyways, just a thought, if it ain't puking each and everytime and/or the gauge shows it's hot, it may be a good idea to just cross check the gauge before you decide to spend some monies.. fwiw, my 2 cents, imho... etc. etc. etc.... 8-)

I gotta be honest with you Mike, I haven't driven it enuff to really say but the coolant was low when I brought it home and it did puke a very little once when I ran to the gas station but as far as the temp goes, it takes a long time to warm up to 190 and if I just ease up to the mailboxes at the entrance of the subdivision it will start to climb before I get home. Don't think it would heat up on the highway and driving speeds but I can't always have those conditions if you know what I mean. YES, I do need to drive it more before making a decision. Thanks for the suggestions and ideas.

LMAO - - - YES-SIR - - - I meant to do that before I did the wires but didn't - - - the Wiffy isn't in the best of health and I have to grab the moments if you know what I mean. Think I'll get the exhaust done and then drain the rad and start that project. ?OK? hahahahaha

While I'm waiting, ordering and deciding on the shroud and fan, I think I'll see if I'm capable of removing the lowering blocks from the rear springs so the muffler man will have proper room to bring them out the rear. Shouldn't be too hard, if I go slow. Need to get under there and measure for new shorter U-bolts and get them before starting, I guess.
