    I'd order the Newport motor and see how it all fits. In my experience shifting the motor to the side and adding linkage sounds simple but ends up being a lot harder and adds failure points or slop to the linkage, compromising the operation. Add that Newport could question their warranty coverage for a non-standard installation. Just sayin'....

    The Newport motor is reverseable, you can mount it to the left or right, whichever fits better. One position, I don't recall which, tucks it right up against the cowl. I have installed a bunch of them, and never had a problem.
