I'd order the Newport motor and see how it all fits. In my experience shifting the motor to the side and adding linkage sounds simple but ends up being a lot harder and adds failure points or slop to the linkage, compromising the operation. Add that Newport could question their warranty coverage for a non-standard installation. Just sayin'....Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

The Newport motor is reverseable, you can mount it to the left or right, whichever fits better. One position, I don't recall which, tucks it right up against the cowl. I have installed a bunch of them, and never had a problem.Anyone can restore an old car, it takes a man to cut one up
