Yeah, I think Tom Ivo's T was that color, either that or Honduras Maroon.

Oddly enough, Titian (the artist) used rather vivid reds while the color titian red is more the color of a glass of red wine held up to a strong light. Lovely color but IMO. it pales to some of the specialty reds from paint manufacturers today.

Titian red is one of those colors that when you see it you pretty much know what it is. When I saw the 27 and the Deuce at Billetproof they both jumped right out at you as being something really different. They tell me that there were actually 3 Titian reds that Buick used though, something about the first ones fading out quickly or something like that. So it is not clear which one is the cool looking one, or if all 3 are that nice. Supposedly, one is darker than the other two, I believe.
Speaking of colors....................I got my 4 wheels back from the powder coater today, a day early!
They look great. I took the front tires and rims off of the 29 today and had the tires dismounted and remounted onto the black rims. I like the look and now just have to figure out if I want to run only early Ford small hubcaps, or hubcaps and trim rings. The wheels are scratch free and those trim rings dig into the finish, so once I put them on I'm committed. Have to do some thinking on that one.Tomorrow night I'll take the back tires and wheels off of the 29 and have those tires put on the new black rims.
Still on the fence on what components I am going to use to build the engine. I should have the car up on all fours within 2 weeks, and can start planning the motor then, I guess. Right now Scat parts seem to be what I can afford and also seem to have a better rep than Eagle. But, I have time to change my mind 10 or 11 times.

Good going Don,
Just as a idea,I like small caps my self, but with the rim pinstriped two lines around outer lip that matchs shiny body color,or white on black.
Don't mind satin or flat as a temp tell it can be shiny nice color, your ideas sound great, but flat or satin was never anything but temp with any rodders I hung with in 55 to 1965.

Thanks Bat. As for color, I'm not sure all cars need to be shiny. A perfect example is Bill's(Gastrick on here) very sweet and cool 32 coupe. The car is absolutely perfect, and I think shiny would make it, well, just another shiny 32 Ford coupe. He took best hot rod at Billetproof this past Spring, and there were TONS of very shiny cars there. I honestly think if he ever painted it shiny it would somehow lose some of what it is. One thing for sure, when you see his coupe there is no doubt what it is...........100% HOT ROD!
To each his own, I guess.
I got my second set of tires dismounted and remounted on the black rims tonight, and I made up my mind I have to keep most of the car the way it was for the past 20 years, so I put the trim rings and hubcaps back on the wheels to see how it looks. I like it. I just have to order 2 hubcaps more to replace two that got some dings over the years. The other two are usable as is, and keep some of the originality of the car together.
Had a conversation with Scat today about various setups........306, 331, and 347 cubic inch setups. I think I am going to stay with the 306 cubic inch one. Main reason is economics because I have to get this car done so fast I will be laying out a bunch of money on lots of other stuff, so if I can save a few bucks on the engine right now it will make it more possible to get it done in time. I can always build a hotter engine with more cubes and better heads down the road and pop that into the car. I'd really hate it if I had a super duper engine in the car and couldn't finish it in time for Turkey Run in November because I still needed to buy other things.
Here are some pictures of how my wheels and tires look. Of course I had to prop one up against the frame to get the full effect. The wheel weights are a little bigger than I hoped, but I told them I was more interested in good balance than looks, so that is what I got.
Oh, and in case some one has missed Gastricks coupe, here are a few pictures of it.

Wow Don. Thanks for the pics. Gastrick what a nice ride. I lke the metal work on the firewall and door panels. I also like that engine! I bet that baby cooks the tires!
Don I see you went with the white walls. They make a nice contrast to the black and chrome. Wise thinking on the engine too! It's not like you don't have a few projects to decide who gets more h.p. Besides with the light weight of that car, combined with the v8 it's should hold it's own! Keep the photo's coming!

Thanks Steve. I thought the same thing, that the all black car needed some contrast..........plus I already owned the tires.
Bill (Gastrick) is a madman when it comes to detail work. He hand bucks each rivet in those aluminum panels. He, his Brother, and his Dad have some VERY cool rides going together. His Brother has a sweet 55 Chevy with a 502 and his Pop has a 40-ish Willys with a blown Hemi! They don't mess around over in Pompano Beach.
