Randy - the seats look like they grew there and appear to be very comfortable!
IC-2 - still doing the deferred maint. deal?? I always hated moving!
Me?? I'm searching for a cup of ambition... bought some body tools and sandpapers, I guess it's that time now. Time for sore arms and sweaty shirts!

Hey....great to hear from you guys!! I check the site every day so I'm keeping up with your various posts. I had been stalking these rear seats on ebay and various places for a year & a half because the measurements seemed just right and I thought they might look pretty cool in my car but they were always a little more than I could afford. Then about 4 months ago a guy was parting out a wrecked GTO on craigslist. I got the back seat with seatbelts and side armrests for $100. I jumped on it but had my front fenders & stuff store inside the car so I didn't take the time to test the fit till yesterday. I'm stoked!!
Dave - moving to VA sounds like a daunting task! Are you going to follow the moving van in your little yellow rod and make a pleasure cruise out of the trip?
Mike - get busy sanding! Sore arms & sweaty shirts are no big deal. I have them everyday at the gym!
Hopefully, it won't be so long till my next progress post. I'm looking for a taller geared third member so I can get the rear end buttoned up and back on the ground. My last project has been swapping the rear springs, lowering the rear end, adding a rear swaybar, etc. The current pumpkin has 2.75 gears in it which will probably be a little ridiculous with a .68 5th gear! With 29" tires I'm looking at 3.89 gears which would still give me low cruising rpms at 70mph. Anyway, more on all that later."It is not much good thinking of a thing unless you think it out." - H.G. Randy, It's always great to hear from you also! And, a hundred bucks?!?! You thief!A patient one too!
Dave, I've moved across country twice! I know all about it! Heck, the hot rod has grown up on both coasts almost!
I did work a few hours on the hood. Finally decided the side to side fit was good and began working on the joint spacings. If it won't kill me - it'll just make me stronger right?!?!?
The gym, another spot I try to avoid! It doesn't please my cardiologist either!
Gotta travel to Wilmington, DE this week so I won't squeeze in anymore time this week.

Yep - there's something about painting windows that tends to make me want to put that project off. Then of course, it's the garage that got 'rocked in 1972 when the house was built but never taped, that is until last weekWhen you try to maximize your price, ya gotta do more work.
Next week - back to the car and maybe even register it within the month (maybe)

Not my definition - the realtor. And to a point she is correct. At least I painted it and rehung the ceiling 'rock that was slowly falling off in 1996 when we moved in here. Then in 2005, replaced the rotted wood garage doors, jacked up the roof to remove the 4-5" long span sag and added some internal loft structure, installed a full length (25') support beam and lolly columns, jacked the entire structure and replaced the ground plate that had rotted and rebuilt the garage door end that was an odd ball size to standard 7x9 doors. Then said the heck with taping - I was tired of working on it. Oh yeah, the brick on the front and one side - had to restack them when I did the plate as they had to come down.
To me, it's a man cave, paint booth and lounge - but just never got around to finishing what the builder hadn't after correcting the rest of his mistakes and poor building practices.Dave W
