Have you seen non-antique VA cars rejected because of shaved door handles?

I see customs all over Tidewater - more modern ones, that is - with shaved doors.

Luck of the draw at the inspection station?

Here's the law:
1. If each door located at the left and right side of the driver's seat is not equipped with a handle or opening device similar to that installed by the vehicle manufacturer which will permit the opening of the door from the outside and inside of the vehicle.

are you saying a toe button under the car is the same thing as a opening device similar to that installed by the vehicle manufacturer ? i dont think so.
yes henry, i was a st. inspector for 25 yrs and i turned a lot of them down. some called the st. police on me and ended up having to put the handles back on. just because you can get a sticker dont mean a thing. if you think youer right, and have a veh. with a st. insp. on it not equipped with a handle or opening device similar to that installed by the vehicle manufacturer them you name the time and place and ill call the st. police and have him check your veh. and lets see if it will pass. i just called and asked about my s10 and the answer is no you cant. the reason behind it is the same reason as tech. gave for the drag strip.
