    I'm headed to the NW part of Illinois Ken. I usually catch I 80 in Des Moines. I just noticed and am wondering about catching I 135N at Wichita and then US 81 up to I 80.

    Don't know if 81 is 2 or 4 lane, but it would get me around KC.......wonder what Omaha is like to get thru

    Looks interesting and worth exploring.
    When I was in high school we made 3 trips to Florida and didn't go the same way twice. My step dad was like that and that was before the interstate system.
    Can't tell you about Omaha as I've only been there once and that on a hop out of March Air Force base. Took the choo-choo to Dayton, Ohio and it cost me all of $13, but that was in 64.
