Couldnt' find old BBQ Thread
Weather is gorgeous today so I picked up a 3.6 # rack of pork spare ribs and fired up the Brinkman at 7am. They've been low and slow'n for almost 4 hours and ended up with quite a decent bark (which I like) so I cut them apart, brushed them with Sweet Baby Ray's, wrapped in foil and put back on the grill to stay warm. At lunch I'll do a couple of ears of corn in the microwave for 7 minutes and the jalapeno pintos have been slow simmering on the stove for a couple hours. Should be a decent chow down.

Looks like a feast! We used to cook up pinto's from dry and liked them, but hadn't done any for years until a couple of months ago. They're still a great side dish, or even a main course like in Costa Rica, "....friends, we have beans & rice, or we have rice and beans, whichever you want!"
On the old threads, about the only way I can find old stuff here any more is to go to the Profile, click "Started Threads" and page through.
Enjoy lunch!Roger

Yeah, I tried that but since I didn't start the thread I just gave up after scrolling 10 pages. I love good dried Pintos from scratch and a friend of mine showed me how to change them from "high octane" to "unleaded" just by par boiling and then rinsing, then you put a carrot in with them when you cook them, but be sure and "DON"T EAT THE CARROT". One thing I noticed in Arkansas and Memphis was that they served Pork n Beans with their "Q" and not Pintos but you'd never get by with that down here..

That sure looks nice Meller! We finally got a wood chip deal set up for our webber and it works very nice. We will be on the hunt for a new grill here in a month. I hope to get a nice stainless steel model that will last a while. We shall see. My old grill was a snapon epiq tool box turned into a grill. I doubt my new grill tops that one.Ryan

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
