phones are worthless when you or anyone serving a customer leaves his focus on the customer. I get real irritated when I have waited in line for service and the serviceman picks up the phone when it rings and gives me only half his attention. Usually just that few seconds he forgets why I'm there or what he was doing. I instantly lose my confidence in that person and his product. I'm sorry but if I am busy they can call back or wait in line.

Don't really know what customer service has to do with needing a new phone? Specially when I keep the gate closed and I don't encourage walk in traffic at all? If someone needs to see me it is by appointment only just so I can then turn off the phone and give them 100% of my attention. All my revenue is generated over the Internet and then finalized over the phone? I need the ear piece so I can hear who I am talking to over the sound of the machinery running in the shop which is making me money. So unlike in your scenario Phones aren't worthless in my world. They are a priority and one of the most powerful, valuable tools I have. I'm not serving burgers...
And to be honest, if I had someone make a special trip to stand in front of me un announced theres a good chance they will most likley wait minute or two before they get all cross threaded and leave. That is the time I would be using to invite the guy on the phone to come in to see me! Bet I would end up getting two sales? Thanks for the input I think?
