I TOO HATE SKUNKS.
Many years ago I had a '53 Ford with a 312 'Y' block. When that mod was done, you dropped the drag link 3-4 inches to clear the pan (which was modified as well). I digress. I had just left my GF off at college and was on my way to my school through the wilderness of Western NY State. I broke over the top of a hill and came across two 'getting it on' in the middle of my lane. Instant death. Unfortunately, the jilted one was about 100 feet further down the road - got that one too. OMG - another 50 or so miles - stench!!! I took the car over to the school maintenance shop and was able to borrow their big jack to raise the front of the car about 5-6 feet, then spent a couple hours steam cleaning, first of all, a big chunk of smelly carcass wrapped around that drag link, then the entire underside of the car. 90% gone - that is except for damp warm days when a slight odor reappeared as a reminder.
